KEDGE Business School invites applications for a 1 year (extendable by another year) Postdoctoral Researcher position in the field of technology transfer and commercialization at its campus in Marseille. Starting date to be negotiated.
The Postdoctoral researcher will join an international team led by Professor Peter von Staden (KEDGE, Marseille). Team members located in the United Kingdom, United States and South Korea (please see details below) to work on the following ongoing project.
The aim of the project is to conceptually and empirically expand the emerging literature on the role of team dynamics in the commercialization of technology. The project is conceived in
2 stages. Stage 1 is completed.
Stage 1: Drawing on theories of team dynamics, actor interaction in leading technology transfer related institutions in South Korea have been studied. Our publications based on empirically findings provide new insights into why some developing economies falter in their transition to technology frontiers.
Stage 2: The focus of subsequent research is to expand the scope to including institutions in
Europe, US and elsewhere in Asia.
Role of Post-Doc
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to engage in this complex and innovative research with the potential of publications in leading internationally peer-reviewed journals.
Have a Ph.D. (or be close to completion) in management, social sciences or a related field. He/she is expected to possess strong conceptual and analytical (esp. quantitative methods) skills and have a commitment to research excellence. Research interest in the areas of technology innovation, technology management and science and technology policy is preferred.
Applicants should be completely fluent in English. Prior knowledge of French is not required. Experience in conducting theoretical and empirical research using conceptual and
quantitative methods in the following areas will be considered favorably.
- Organizational theories broadly defined, institutional and team dynamics theories
- Technology management, technology commercialization, research and development, university-industry linkages, science and technology policy
- Strong training in quantitative methods including Partial Least Squares structural equation modelling
- Some understanding and willingness to learn cognitive mapping techniques
- Experience in interviewing and construction of questionnaires
- Experience in external funding and grant application is a plus
The start date is to be negotiated but position should be assumed latest by September 2020. The initial 1 year appointment can be extended by an additional year. Gross salaries will be competitive with other European research and academic institutions. The researcher will be based in Marseille.
The successful candidate will also be required to complete 90 hours of teaching per year.
